Tarlton Supply is equipped with Haas CNC machine tools throughout. For maximum up-time and reliability, no machine is kept beyond 5 years. After five years in service they are replaced with new machines. This assures that we have the latest technology and highest accuracy and productivity available.

4th axis capabilities are installed on all  machining centers for maximum versatility.

Palletized workholding with SMW Setup Switchers is available for high production runs, keeping setup and operating times to a minimum.

Our mill department is in a separate 5,000 square foot facility, also airconditioned. As with the lathes, all tooling and setup equipment is kept in the same building and near the machinery for rapid setup changes and efficient work flow. The large machining centers are all served by overhead cranes to facilitate material and setup handling.

Tarlton Supply developed the installation on our horizontal machining centers for utilizing Renishaw laser tool setting and tool measuring for high accuracy in setups. Renishaw inspection probes allow the machine to inspect its work and automatically change offsets to keep parts in tolerance. When a workpiece is finished and probed, the control can produce a detailed and serialized inspection report for that part. This capability enhances and supports the inspections done in our Quality Assurance department.

We are currently fitting a Renishaw inspection probe and laser tool setting capabilities on one of our Haas VF-5 vertical machining centers. We expect these modifications to improve quality while saving time. We have found this to be one of the most cost-effective tools available for CNC milling. The laser toolsetter in particular helps eliminate scrap due to damaged tools. It is capable of inspecting the cutting edges of drills, endmills, and each insert of a milling cutter while rotating the tool at speed. If a damaged tool is detected, the machine can stop the operation or select a backup tool from the tool magazine and continue the job. This capability alone can pay for itself in saving a single tombstone full of expensive workpieces.

Our lathe department also uses the latest Haas CNC machines for high accuracy and productivity.Three of our seven Haas lathes are fitted with bar feeders for maximum productivity. All lathes incorporate tool setting probes for highly accurate tool setting and fast, efficient setups.

All our Haas CNC lathes are equipped with SMW high accuracy chucks with quick change jaws for fast setups that repeat to four decimal places.

Our lathe department is set up in a 10,000 square foot, air conditioned building. All related tooling and setup equipment is stored near the machines for efficient operations.
